This maze tile is designed for use with micromouse robots. 36 identical tiles can be connected together to form a full size micromouse maze with a 16x16 grid of cells. The maze tiles have 6mm holes that are 18cm apart to conform to micromouse competition standards. Each tile is cut on a CNC machine for the highest level of precision.
The maze tiles are made from MDF wood so they don't warp like regular plywood. Each tile has two layers that interlock with each other to ensure vertical alignment and smooth seams for robots to travel over. When inserting the pillars along a tile edge they lock adjacent tiles together.
The maze tiles can be stacked for easy storage and transport. Since the tiles are identical and modular only 6 tiles are needed to create a 16 cell corridor, so you don't need a full size maze to test different aspects of your robot.
We recommend purchasing at least 4 tiles to create a maze. The table below can be used for reference.
| Cell Grid | Number of Tiles |
|---|---|
| 2x2 | 1 |
| 5x5 | 4 |
| 8x8 | 9 |
| 16x16 | 36 |
In addition to the maze tiles we also sell compatible maze walls and pillars that are 3D printed, but you can also make your own. The 6mm holes are designed to fit 6mm wooden dowels which our 3d printed pillars use.
3D print (.STL) files are available upon request with any purchase of our micromouse products.
This maze has been thoroughly tested and endorsed by the Stevens Institute of Technology micromouse team.
